New File Formats Come to Google Docs Viewer

One of the great things about Gmail and Google Docs is you can quickly view a document that someone sends you without having to download that file locally.  Google announced that 12 more file formats are now supported in the Google Docs Viewer.

These include:

• Microsoft Excel (.XLS and .XLSX)
• Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 / 2010 (.PPTX)
• Apple Pages (.PAGES)
• Adobe Illustrator (.AI)
• Adobe Photoshop (.PSD)
• Autodesk AutoCad (.DXF)
• Scalable Vector Graphics (.SVG)
• PostScript (.EPS, .PS)
• TrueType (.TTF)
• XML Paper Specification (.XPS)

With these additions, you should have no trouble viewing documents that are sent to you.
