TechSmith has released Camtasia Studio 8 today, which is a rebuild of the top screencasting and video creation software line. I have used Camtasia for years for recording and editing screencasts, and this new version builds upon that with even more video creation tools.
“To make the Camtasia Studio experience better than ever, TechSmith invested significantly in usability research, beta testing and user-experience design to deliver its new screen recording and video creation application, which is loaded with assets including music, animations, graphics and callouts that make any video more cohesive. In addition, all Camtasia Studio 8 users have access to a comprehensive library of training content and free technical support to ensure they get productive right away.”
New and updated features include:
- Interactive engagement with quizes, sharing, etc.
- In-video linking to web content
- New engine with significant increases in performance
- New assets library with new content
- and much more!
I had a chance to get an early look at Camtasia Studio 8. As a long time user the improvements and new features with this release are fantastic, and makes it easy for people with little video editing experience to create great looking videos. It’s a worthy upgrade if you already own it, and a definite must-buy for those who don’t.
