Snapselect: Find and Pick Your Best Images

Posted by on Dec 11, 2014 in Mac, Releases | 1 comment

Macphun has released a new image app today called Snapselect.  It’s designed to help photographers save time by finding and sorting your best images so you can then share or do further processing on your images. Whether you take pictures with your phone or any type of camera, it’s easy to take a large amount of images and it is very time consuming to go through all them at a time just to pick a few to use. Snapselect wants to eliminate much of that by using it’s propriety image recognition algorithms to let you quickly find and sort your photographs. From what we’ve seen this looks like another great image app from Macphun, and we’ll be reviewing it soon. Snapselect is available today on the Mac App Store for $14.99 which is a limited time launch offer....

Review: Perfectly Clear 2.0

Posted by on Dec 3, 2014 in Mac, PC, Reviews | 0 comments

Perfectly Clear 2.0 is a set of plugins for Lightroom and Photoshop that were released a couple of months ago. This is an image correction and enhancement app that offers 20 automatic corrections to help fix and enhance your pictures, but the Beautify feature is something I really wanted to take a look at. I don’t usually do portrait photography, but every once and a while I’m asked to do a shoot and I take the opportunity to help out a friend or family member. I recently took some photos of my daughters and their friends of Homecoming, and some wanted some images they could use in their yearbook. This was the perfect opportunity to try out Perfectly Clear. After the shoot I imported all the images to Lightroom and started processing them in Perfectly Clear. In general the...

Review: Reformator – Batch Photo Editor for Mac

Posted by on Oct 19, 2014 in Mac, Reviews | 0 comments

Reformator is a batch image convertor from the Overmacs Team.  I previously reviewed another app developed by them called PhotoSweeper, which I was highly impressed with.  In the past couple of months  I’ve needed a batch image convertor for several photo projects I have been working on, and I’ve been trying several out.  The opportunity to review Reformator came at the perfect time.  I needed something good and something fast to convert a bunch of images with different variations, so is Reformator up to the task? I’m not really sure “batch image convertor” is the best for this, as Reformator is actually a multi-purpose imaging tool that you can apply to many images at once.  As I mentioned before, I’ve been trying several of these out and Reformator has the biggest feature set I’ve seen yet.  Once you open Reformator...

Review: Tonality Pro

Posted by on Oct 15, 2014 in Mac, Reviews | 0 comments

Tonality is the newest app in the Macphun photo app lineup, and I’ve reviewed most of their apps like Intensify and Focus 2 before.  Their other apps take care of a wide range of photo editing capabilities, and Tonality adds to that by bringing a black and white editing ability for your images.  Tonality brings a powerful black and white editor with RAW support, over 150 presets, and a variety of tools which allow you advanced monochrome editing. If you’ve used Macphun apps before, you’ll notice a similar interface.  They do a really good job in this area and don’t overcomplicate the user interface with things you don’t need.  You have your standard toolbar functions at the top, the tools and sliders along the side, and at the bottom you have the selected presets shown.  It’s very easy to find your...
