Windows 10 Technical Preview Now Available

  Yesterday, Microsoft unveiled Windows 10, the next version of the Windows operating system and today the Technical Preview is available now from the Windows Insider Program.  The Technical Preview gives users a chance to download and use an early build of Windows 10. “With the Insider program, we’re inviting our most enthusiastic Windows customers to shape Windows 10 with us. We know they’re a vocal bunch – and we’re looking forward to hearing from them.   The Windows Insider Program is intended for PC experts and IT pros who are comfortable using pre-release software with variable quality. Reading List for Windows Phone 8.1

Windows Phone 8.1 gets another useful Microsoft app today with the release of Reading List for Windows Phone. You might be familiar with the Windows 8 version, and this Windows Phone version will sync across devices. Reading List lets you save articles from Internet Explorer and other apps on your phone so they can be read later. The saved articles can be placed into categories for easy sorting or find your latest in the recently viewed area. As mentioned above, your saved articles will sync with Reading List on your Windows 8.1 desktop or tablet so they be accessed on whatever device you are using. Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview Available Now!

If you are a Windows Phone enthusiast or developer, then you might have been waiting  anxiously over the past week to get your hands on the developer preview of the recently announced Windows Phone 8.1.  This big update contains many new features including the new digital voice assistant, Cortana, among many other improvements. OneNote for Mac Finally Arrives

The OneNote team announced today that OneNote will finally be available on the Mac starting today.  I use OneNote on all my other platforms like Windows and Windows Phone, so I was excited to see a real desktop version come to the Mac.  OneNote is one of the best note-taking applications available, and there are versions for Windows, iOS, Windows Phone and more.  All your notes sync via OneDrive so you can access and edit them on any of your devices. OneDrive Now Available

We’ve mentioned before how SkyDrive, Microsoft’s “cloud” storage feature was being re-branded to OneDrive following a lawsuit.  Well today OneDrive is officially available and updates for OneDrive are being made available on the various platforms including Windows Phone, Android, iOS, Mac, and of course your Windows PC. Aside from the name change, they’ve also added some features: “As part of that goal, we’re doing more than just changing the name with today’s release: We’re rolling out several new capabilities, including automatic camera backup for Android and the ability to share and view videos just as easily as photos.
